How Melbourne Flyers collects, uses, stores and protects the personal information you share with us.

Last updated: 8 July 2026.

Melbourne Flyers ("we", "us", "our") is a sole trader business providing leaflet distribution, flyer printing and related services in metropolitan Melbourne. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits our website, uses our services, or otherwise gives us their personal information.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we store and use it, and your rights in relation to it. It is written to reflect the principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), even though as a small business with an annual turnover under A$3 million we may not be legally required to comply with the Act. We follow these standards as good business practice and to give you confidence in how we handle your information.

1. What personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us. Typically this includes:

  • Contact and campaign details you give us when you request a quote or get in touch — including your name, business name, email address, phone number, website, campaign quantity, coverage area, and the type of distribution or printing you need.
  • Artwork and campaign files you send us for printing or distribution — typically PDF, image or design files that may contain your business branding.
  • Correspondence you send us by email, phone or through our website forms.
  • Website usage information collected automatically when you visit our website — including your IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and time spent on the site. This is collected through analytics tools described in Section 5 below.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health, financial account, or government identifier information) through our website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

2. How we collect your information

We collect personal information directly from you when you:

  • Complete our online quote request form (hosted by Jotform — see Section 5);
  • Email, call or otherwise contact us;
  • Send us artwork or campaign details for a booking;
  • Visit our website (technical and usage data collected automatically).

3. Why we collect and use your information

We collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To prepare quotes and respond to your enquiries;
  • To deliver the services you have booked with us — printing, distribution, and reporting;
  • To contact you about your active or upcoming campaigns;
  • To send you completion reports, invoices and receipts;
  • To improve our website and services based on how visitors use them;
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Direct marketing

We do not currently send marketing emails or promotional messages. If we introduce a marketing list or newsletter in the future, we will only send messages to people who have explicitly opted in, and every message will include a clear unsubscribe link, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

5. Third parties we share information with

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run our website and deliver our services. Some personal information is shared with these providers as necessary. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

  • Jotform — our online quote request form is hosted by Jotform. When you submit the form, your details are transmitted to Jotform's servers before reaching us. Jotform's own privacy practices apply — see jotform.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare — our website is hosted on Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare processes standard server log data (IP address, request headers, page requested) to deliver the site and protect against abuse. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Google Analytics 4 — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes information including your IP address (which is truncated by Google before storage). See policies.google.com/privacy and Google's Analytics data safeguards. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Ahrefs Analytics — a privacy-focused analytics tool that helps us understand aggregate visitor traffic. See ahrefs.com/privacy.
  • Print and delivery partners — where you have engaged us for a printing or distribution job, we may share the minimum campaign details necessary (such as artwork files and delivery quantities) with our printing suppliers and distribution walkers to fulfil your order.

Some of these providers store data on servers located outside Australia. By using our website and services, you consent to this cross-border transfer.

6. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to collect the analytics information described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when a site sets one. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of our website work.

7. How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include:

  • Serving our website over HTTPS with valid TLS certificates;
  • Restricting access to customer data to people who need it to do their work;
  • Using reputable service providers with their own security measures in place;
  • Deleting or de-identifying personal information when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a copy of it, and ask us to correct any information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. To make a request, email us at privacy@melbourneflyers.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and there is no charge for making a request.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have handled your personal information in a way that breaches this policy or the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at privacy@melbourneflyers.com so we have a chance to resolve it. We will acknowledge your complaint within a reasonable time and respond as promptly as we can.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
